Intermittent fasting is a hot topic these days. Whether you fast for 8 or 12 hours or more, people are fine-tuning ways to fuel themselves without breaking their fast. Particularly with coffee, but what does that mean?

Today, we’ll be covering what a fast is, how to break it, and answer the question will Dandy Blend break a fast.

What is A Fast?

By dictionary standards, a fast is defined as “to abstain from food.” In the biohacking world, a fast is a little more nuanced. A fast is a set schedule of eating and not eating. This can look different for everyone. Some people may eat in an 8-hour window, while others may adhere to a 12-hour window. Other ways of fasting include full days of abstaining from food. The type of fast someone follows will be determined by their body, comfort level with abstaining from eating, and overall goals.

Will Dandy Blend Break A Fast?

The general consensus is that anything with protein or carbohydrates will break a fast. However, the true definition of foods that break a fast are whether they spike insulin or not. The only way Dandy Blend breaks a fast is if you were to pair it with animal or nut milk, a sweetener, or collagen supplements. Dandy Blend alone, even with one gram of carbohydrate, will not technically break a fast. Similarly to black coffee, Dandy Blend will not interrupt the perks of fat-burning ketosis that so many people flock to fasting for.

So, if you’re fasting and craving your daily Dandy Blend, you can peacefully sip away.

Happy Sipping!
