10 of Our Favorite Dandy Blend Add-Ins

1. Manuka Honey

This one is a no-brainer for its subtle sweetness, but it’s not just any honey. Manuka honey is full of antioxidants, and exhibits antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. What may be most exciting is that this particular type of honey has been shown to help improve oral health. [1]

2. Homemade lavender syrup

If you like floral flavors, you’re going to love our lavender syrup. It’s one of our go-to Dandy Blend recipes for an easy simple syrup variation. All you need is water, sugar, and lavender buds. You can find the full recipe here.

3. Maca Root Powder

For anyone who is trying to cut back on caffeine but still wants a little boost of energy, maca is the perfect mix-in for you. Maca root has been studied for numerous health benefits, including improvements in mood and energy. [2] This root can pack a punch, so be sure to start small.

4. Butter

Don’t knock it until you try it. This fan favorite recipe is a blend of hot Dandy Blend, butter, coconut oil, and cinnamon. It’s a must-try if you’re trying to cut back on milk and sugar, but want a rich, tasty beverage. Our version of this “bulletproof” drink can be found here.

5. Maple Syrup

When you want a touch of sweetness, but you don’t want to add a spoonful of processed sugar, maple syrup is a great alternative. This all-natural sweetener is full of vitamins and minerals, and a little bit goes a long way. [3]

6. Functional Mushrooms

Adaptogenics are all the rage. While we don’t love them in our beloved Dandy Blend every morning, they can be a fun add-in when we’re in need of a pick-me-up. Certain mushrooms can help with mood and energy, while others can help target brain fog. They have quite a gritty taste, so adding in some Manuka honey or maple syrup would do this mix-in good.

7. Vanilla

This coffee and coffee alternative flavor is a classic. It’s smooth, vibrant, and goes well with just about everything. Whether you add a splash of vanilla extract to your Dandy Blend latte or a pump of homemade syrup, you can’t go wrong with this add-in. We have a homemade vanilla syrup recipe linked here.

8. Collagen

Collagen is the perfect Dandy Blend enhancement if you want benefits that won’t alter the taste of your drink. A good quality, hydrolyzed collagen powder will instantly dissolve in any hot liquid and won’t leave an aftertaste. This beauty food is shown to help increase skin elasticity and hydration. [4]

9. Cardamom

A nutty, warm spice like cardamom is a delicious addition to your daily Dandy Blend. Plus, it’s been studied for its potential positive effects on blood sugar levels. [5] A few shakes of this comforting spice will do the trick.

10. Coconut Cream

If you’re looking for a lighter, dairy-free alternative to creamer, a light and fluffy coconut cream is your answer. You can buy one from the store or make your own at home. It adds a fun, tasty whipped cream-like topping to your daily brew.
