Perfect Homemade Chocolate Bark for Valentine’s Day
Forget store-bought treats this year. Homemade gifts mean much more to people, and this homemade chocolate bark makes for a perfect present. Plus, it’s so easy to make.
Start by lining a baking pan with parchment paper. Next, heat up your chocolate and coconut oil in a bowl. You can do this one of two ways – in the microwave in 15 second intervals until it’s melted, or over the stove. If you melt them over the stove, bring a small pot of water to a gentle boil and place a heat-safe bowl on top with the chocolate and coconut oil in it. Slowly stir until melted.
Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the Dandy Blend and sea salt. Then, pour the chocolate mixture over the parchment paper. If you prefer a more uniform bar of chocolate, you can purchase a chocolate mold to help keep its shape. Start pouring the toppings over the chocolate while it’s still warm. Use a spatula to shape your chocolate. Note that larger designs will make the bark thinner. Crushed strawberries are beautiful, festive, and tasty, but you can always add other toppings. Coconut shavings, crushed nuts, and sprinkles are all delicious and make for a pretty-looking bark.
Let the chocolate bark cool in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. If you double the recipe, leave it in the fridge for closer to two hours. Once set, use your hands to break the bark into pieces, and store in a seal-tight jar for up to 7 days.
