Before you laugh and think that all pancakes are kid-friendly pancakes, think about some of the niche things that set little mouths off. The wrong color, visible ingredients (who knew Madagascar vanilla beans were so offensive), bitter flavors, and the list goes on. The kid-friendly pancake recipe we’re sharing today is fairly neutral, well mixed, and perfectly and naturally sweet. We snuck in some Dandy Blend, of course, and think you and your littles will love it.
Ingredients to Include for Kid-Friendly Pancakes
Restaurants are getting creative with their pancake offerings, and it’s not unlikely to receive a fancy stack of ‘cakes with mascarpone, gold flakes, or berry compote. While delicious, not very kid friendly. We think the simplest ingredients actually make for the best pancakes, especially for kiddos.
Our kid-friendly pancake recipe calls for a mix of eggs, banana, coconut flour, a splash of milk (of your choice), Dandy Blend, sea salt, and a hint of maple syrup or honey. You can top with your family’s favorite fruit or a spoonful of dye-free sprinkles for fun. The base is perfect, the add-ons are up to you.
How to Make Our Kid-Friendly Pancake Recipe with Dandy Blend
Get ready, because your kids and their friends are all going to be requesting these pancakes. All you need are eggs, a ripe banana, coconut flour, Dandy Blend, milk of choice, sea salt, and a hint of sweetness. We like maple syrup or honey. You can simplify this recipe by adding all of the ingredients to a blender, or you can whisk them by hand. We recommend mashing the bananas before adding the rest of the ingredients if so. Once well combined, spoon the batter onto a preheated pan on medium-low heat. Wait until you see small bubbles in the batter—that’s how you know it’s time to flip. Repeat until you’ve cooked all of the batter and serve immediately, or freeze for later use.
